Noise-sensitive development

Planning authorities will not usually permit the development of dwellings or other noise-sensitive buildings in locations affected by environmental noise and/or vibration unless the proposal incorporates adequate mitigation measures. We undertake environmental noise impact assessments including measurement surveys and computer modelling on proposed (or permitted) development sites and advise on suitable mitigation measures.

Industrial and commercial development

Similarly, planning authorities will not usually permit industrial, commercial or other developments likely to generate noise unless it can be demonstrated that noise and/or vibration will not have an adverse impact on existing neighbouring land uses.

We carry out noise impact assessments for proposed developments of factories, commercial premises, wind farms and other power generation, minerals extraction and ancillary processes such as crushing, screening block-making and tarmac coating plant.
